Our first lesson was about innovation.
The lesson began with a video that encouraged us to go beyond learning something new everyday; we should also create something new everyday.
Sounds hard, right? Among the billions of great minds in the world, how can we come up with an original thought?
Our first lesson challenged this traditional view of innovation. So let us think differently about how people think differently! Know that:
Innovation is not evasive; it doesn’t come from the epiphanies of visionary geniuses. It comes from synthesizing ideas. Take two existing fields and find their intersection.
We must know the many demands of the world, see the broad application of every field, and realize what practical change we can make. We must do all this with discipline!
And with that, our foundation was set.
